Study and implementation of retrofitting projects against earthquakes for Maroon-Isfahan pipelines and pumping stations across the country
A- Explanation of services on vulnerable studies and making Maroon-Isfahan oil pipelines resistant:
• Collection and preparation of existing information:
Includesstudy of plans, auditingrecords and evaluation of current situation and comparison of them tocurrent plans; in absence of plans, preparing as-built documents (of existing conditions) and inspection of pipelines and if necessary,performingnon-destructive analysis.
• Conducting earthquake danger analytical studies (Risk analysis):
Includes preparation of acceleration spectrum for design in stone layer and on ground surface with respect to completion of existing geotechnical information and conducting any study that will lead to completion of earthquake risk analysis
• Vulnerability studies:
a. Qualitative and quantitative analysis of all pipeline, fittingsand connections as a result of all induced focal, quake and dynamic forces and the impact of the product on well-credited scientific methods, global standards, with linear or non-linear methods, and using relevant software and applying acceleration spectrum derived from analysis of earthquake risk (necessary in surveying the impact of wave)
b. Studying the structure and all elements including member of focal and side carriers, junctions and foundations as a result of applying all the forces concentrated on the structure (either the focal, vibrating and dynamic forces) per article of association no. 2800 and national construction regulations as well as all the world well-credited organizations and studying all non-structure elements and filler elements through linear and non-linear methods, using relevant software by applying the spectrum of acceleration gained byquake risk analysis.
c. Studying collapse and sliding of pipelines and current structures at the time of possibleearthquake
d. Vulnerable points determination based on the accelerations gained by analysis of earthquake risk
Retrofitting studies:
It includes presentation of methods of encountering vulnerable points and selection of appropriate solutions to make facilities resistant through qualitative and quantitative methods and using mathematical and analytic methods along with execution plans and their details in a way that it will make all hydrocarbon pipelines and their structures resistant and address all the incoming (focal, vibrating and dynamic) forces. The present project to study making Maroon-Isfahan pipelines resistant is on the agenda and the retrofitting project will be commissioned once the study is complete.
General specifications, boundary and site of work:
Maroon-Isfahan pipeline begins from Maroon 1 pumping station and ends in products Transfer Center close to Isfahan Refinery after passing through 430 kms from 6pumping stations. It sends feedstock to Isfahan and Tehran refineries.
The 30 inch in diameter pipeline is buried inside the ground on Ahvaz-Isfahan way, passing through mountainous area and crossing quake faultlines. It enters Karoon dam area after 159 kms and after a change in the path laid down in the years Karoon 3 Dam was constructed (19 kms variant) and passing through heights close to Karoon dam lake, it reaches Karoon 4 dam zone with about 50 meter high beta tranches and harsh steeps. After passing limits of Karoon 4 dam, it ends up in Isfahan refinery.
